Work atmosphere:Mostly indoors at a consulting office. Nutritonist's usually work in clean, well lighted, and well ventilated areas. Work includes standing for long hours.
Job Responsibilities: Provide medical nutrition therapy, plan food and nutrition programs, and oversee food preparation.
Education required: At least a bachelor's. Graduate degrees are also available. Besides degrees there are licenses and certification.
Types of skills: Good at science, public speaking, and one on one counseling.
Entry level pay: about $45,000-$50,000.
Advancement and job outlook: Advancement oppurtunities include management position, director of dietetic department, or self employment. Job outlook is expected to grow because of an increased emphasis on disease prevention.
Kind of people that I woulb be working with: Athletes, elderly person, diabetics etc.
Overall impression: This job appeals a lot to me because i want to know how i can improve my life as well as others. Doing it as a career will be very rewarding because a healthy lifestyle is my passion.
